Quite a group showed up bright and early for work sporting all sorts of costumes for Halloween.

SIR Staff Invades NC State Fair

The quarterly staff retreat was to the NC State Fair in Raleigh on a beautiful "Carolina Blue" sky Monday. Everyone enjoyed the food, fair and the rides but most of all the fellowship and being together having fun outside the office. A Fred Flintstone size chicken leg wasn’t enough for Dawn so corn on the cob was desert. Jeanie ate half her candy apple with the rest ending up on her face and hands. And Stephen has some work to do before he has us all believing he played on the basketball team at NC Wesleyan College!

Sidney S. Wilson Earns AAI Designation

Standard Insurance & Realty is pleased to announce that Sidney S. Wilson, CISR, AAI has earned the designation of an Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI). The AAI professional designation is earned after the successful completion of three national examinations given by the Insurance Institute of America (IIA) . It covers such areas of expertise as insurance production (insurance sales, exposure identification, legal liability, personal lines insurance, commercial lines insurance); multiple-lines insurance production; and agency operations and sales management.

BATTS CELEBRATES 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Standard Insurance & Realty recently recognized Bonnie Batts for her outstanding service and celebrated her 5 year anniversary with the company. Bonnie joined Standard Insurance & Realty in October 2002 as Bookkeeper with over thirty-five years of accounting experience. Bonnie graduated with honors from Nash Community College with an Associate's Degree in Accounting and is a member of Arlington Baptist Church of Rocky Mount. She is married and is the proud parent of one son. Bonnie and her husband, Rusty, are grandparents of two granddaughters and a grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family.

LOVE CELEBRATES 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Standard Insurance & Realty recently recognized Beth Love for her outstanding service and celebrated her 5 year anniversary with the company. Beth joined Standard in 2002 after relocating to Rocky Mount. Beth has been a licensed Property & Liability Agent since 2001 and was formerly with The Moore and Johnson Agency in Raleigh NC for 10 years. Beth handles claims and certificates of insurance for business customers. She and her husband Steve enjoy spending time with their son and daughter, enjoy playing tennis and snow skiing.

COTTON REACHES 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Standard Insurance & Realty recently recognized Wayne Cotton for his outstanding service and celebrated his 15 year anniversary with the company. Wayne joined Standard Insurance & Realty in July of 1992 as Real Estate Property Manager. Wayne's prior employment was with Pioneer Savings Bank (formerly Home Savings & Loan Association) as manager of administrative services. At Standard, Wayne’s job involves marketing landlords' property for rent, collecting rental payments, coordinating lease arrangements, maintaining a list of vacant properties, reviewing applicants' credit reports and preparing repair work orders. Wayne coordinates between the owner and tenant and maintenance vendors to ensure all parties are satisfied with the repair and maintenance process. In a recent customer survey over 85% of Wayne's customers have him the highest possible rating. Wayne lives in Rocky Mount and has been married to his wife Brenda for 40 years. They have two grown daughters who are both married. Wayne and Brenda are members of Lakeside Baptist Church and for relaxation Wayne enjoys the outdoors hunting and fishing.
